What to wear this season

By Eftychia Antonopoulou,

The spring-summer 2025 season has begun. The weather keeps getting better and better forcing us to make the annual swap of our winter and summer clothes in our closets. For this chore it is wise that we consult the runways. Designers and well-known brands form the trends of the season and by combining these trends with our personal taste we can achieve our perfect style.

It is important, hence, to know what to get rid of, what to keep and what to shop. We also have to keep in mind what is classic and always trending so that we achieve to build a personal style and a “capsule” wardrobe. A wardrobe that includes necessary basic items that are forever needed. Keeping those things in mind let’s see now what the runways are suggesting for spring-summer 2025.

Preppy-chic items

First and foremost, there is a comeback in classy clothing. Bows and pearls, minimal lines and a sense of luxury. It is not so much about statement pieces, but about the “capsule” wardrobe effect that I was talking about earlier. Pieces that are always needed, such as minimal tailored shirts and pants. Blacks and whites are, also, in this category -they constitute however a general trend for this season. For footwear we will be seeing mules and sandals as much as sneakers.

Bold accessorizing

To compliment the minimal looks, a bold accessory is always necessary. Big frame sunglasses in brown or black go with everything. When it comes to bags, the oversized hobo bag that has been around for some time now will keep being at stores. Small night-out bags are not a needed purchase and, thus, I would suggest investing in a bigger everyday one that will go with everything but that will also make an impression. Jewelry in gold for the sunny days are a must.

Boho

This season’s boho look is all about rich textures and intricate detailing. Crochet tops and bottoms, floral dresses and handcrafted embroidery. Earthy neutrals are softened with pastel washes and sun-faded tones, while flowy silhouettes, fringe accents, and layered accessories add depth and movement. Whether it’s a sheer kaftan catching the breeze or a pair of embellished sandals paired with wide-leg linen pants, the boho vibe captures a romantic, wanderlust energy that feels effortlessly chic and grounded in nature.

Athleisure

Elevated athleisure blurs the lines between comfort and couture, delivering sporty silhouettes with a high-fashion twist. Luxe fabrics like silk jersey and technical knits transform track pants, crop tops and hoodies into tailored essentials. The palette leans minimalist with main colors the soft taupe, slate grey, and crisp white with some occasional pops of neon or metallics for a cooler look. Clean lines, strategic cut-outs, and smart layering add sophistication, making these pieces ideal for outings as well as the gym and hikes. With utility-inspired details and streamlined fits, this season’s athleisure is all about feeling empowered, polished and ready for anything.

These are some of my favorite trends of the season. It is for a fact that they can be worn in many ways incorporating personal elements in one’s outfits. And that is what will make the outfit special, when apart from being trendy they are also unique and creative. The ideal closet is different for everyone. Wear what makes you feel good in your own skin without caring just about what is trending. Create and have fun with it!
